BookWriggle ("we", "us", "our") is a book discovery app. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
2. Data We Collect
Account Data
When you register, we collect your email address, display name, and password (stored as a secure hash by Firebase — we never see it in plain text).
Profile Data
Avatar / profile image selection and username (if set).
Reading Activity
Books you have liked or saved, books you have marked as read, and your genre and rating preferences.
User-Generated Content
Book reviews and ratings, comments and replies, and direct messages sent between users.
Technical Data
Device type and operating system, and app usage analytics (crash reports, performance data) collected automatically by Firebase.
3. How We Use Your Data

4. Third-Party Services
Firebase (Google LLC)

5. Data Retention
Your account data is kept for as long as your account exists. Deleted messages are removed immediately. If you delete your account, your data is deleted within 30 days.
6. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, object to certain processing, or receive a portable copy of your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the email below.
7. Children
BookWriggle is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent revision.
